Going Gold for Christmas
Posted: 9th December 2019
The Doris team got together at The Hatch in Old Leigh this week for their Christmas party. It was a lovely few hours, with a glass of fizz for those not driving or working, and warming mugs of hot chocolate for everyone else.
There were festive nibbles, many of them made by staff family members (thank you!!), presents for every member of the team and, most exciting of all, an opportunity for staff members' children and grandchildren to meet Santa and choose a toy to take home.
Santa took time out of his busy schedule and, with the help of his two glamorous helpers, a herd of chocolate-fuelled children were efficiently rostered to visit the golden grotto, meet the big fella and choose a gift. Huge thanks to Santa and his team for making it a fun evening for the children.
We're also extremely grateful to local charity, Gold Geese, who set up the grotto. Gold Geese is dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their grotto at The Hatch provides the opportunity to spread the word and raise funds for their vitally important work. We were delighted to donate £200 to their cause and hope that it makes a small difference to local families affected by childhood cancer.
We'd like to wish everyone who came or helped a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
