If we're fit and well, we're caring as usual...

As the country gets used to being in lockdown, the Doris team is calmly getting on with the vital task of caring for the elderly people in our community. As "Key Workers", our work is more important than ever as we help shield the most vulnerable.
It isn't plain sailing! Some of our staff have symptoms and are adhering strictly to the government's guidance to stay at home. So resources are strained. School closures have also had a impact. But... we have one of our biggest training groups yet this week (appropriately distanced in a large training room). And those of us who are still fighting fit are working extremely hard to maintain a safe, consistent and reliable service for our clients and their families.
We've split the office team into two sub-teams. They will work alternate weeks in the office and offsite, reinforcing the other measures we've taken to ensure continuity of service. Technology is a huge help in enabling this separated approach, but it's hard for a team that normally works so closely. They're all doing brilliantly.
If you're twiddling your thumbs and wanting to do something useful, get in touch. The need for people willing to help get us all through this crisis will only become greater. If you're interested in care work, short or long term, apply now or email, telling us how you can help. We could use the extra resource!
Huge respect and heartfelt thanks to every member of the Doris team, and to all the other health and social care professionals working so hard across the country. Keep calm and care on.
