Balancing independence with specialist care

Leading a fulfilling life at home while managing an illness or health issue can sometimes seem an unrealistic goal, but with the right help and support it can be an attainable one.

Our team build a care and support plan around the individual needs of a client, taking into consideration any aspects influenced by a particular condition or illness. We will work alongside family members and other health professionals to ensure as independent, comfortable and fulfilling life as possible.

Physiotherapy

Doris Jones is uniquely positioned as a physio-led homecare provider. Whether providing hands-on physio, or simply creating an ongoing care plan underpinned by physiotherapy principles, our expertise can help you live better at home.

In addition to two highly experienced physiotherapists with decades of private and NHS practice, we actively encourage our care team members to take up associate membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).

Reablement

The Doris Jones team are specialists in reablement or rehabilitation, be it following surgery,
after a fall or accident, or after a prolonged period of inactivity.

Whether you just need short-term help while regaining your full independence, or longer term
support while adjusting to a new health condition, we can tailor our care to your needs.

We regularly work alongside associated health professionals, like OTs and District Nurses,
to ensure a joined-up approach to helping you recover your independence as soon as possible.

Dementia Care

Dementia takes many forms and can impact the lives of those living with it in a variety of ways. From initial assessment to ongoing visits, our team caters for the individual needs of clients and their families.

In addition to training our own staff, we offer individual and group dementia training sessions with family members. This not only shares our knowledge but ultimately helps improve quality of life for all those affected.

Parkinsons Care

We work closely with our local Parkinson's Nurses to ensure our care team are appropriately trained, and that the services we provide cater for the particular needs of those with Parkinson's.

Stroke Care

Living at home with the effects of a stroke can be challenging. Our team can provide a care and support package, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as required, to help overcome those challenges and speed recovery.

Strokes affect everybody differently but we find that with a little patience and a great rehab care plan, things can improve over time. It’s often the case that NHS rehab comes to an end when the early stages of the stroke have passed. But continuity can be key in achieving results and our team is trained to help maintain physical strength and function in a variety of ways – not all obvious…

End-of-life Care

Having the right people, with the right training, to offer support through palliative and end-of-life care is so important. Our team is highly experienced in making the final weeks and months as happy and comfortable as they can be.
